Tinuy-an Falls

Tinuy-an Falls is found in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur in Mindanao, Philippines. It is a multi-tiered waterfall and has been featured in various International Travel Magazines. It has also been touted as the little Niagara Falls of the Philippines.

Tinuy-an comes from the word Tinuyo-an, a native vernacular which means "intentional act or performance to attain an objective or goal". The falls is 95 m wide and 55 meters (180 ft) high. The water that drapes through three waterfalls features a curtain of white froth that makes Tinuy-an Falls worth the long travel. It is located at Barangay Borboanan in Bislig City.

According to the locals, a rainbow appears between 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. It's a magical feeling watching it. To get closer to the falls, bamboo rafts are available. You can also go to the upper part of the falls. It is wide with a shorter plunge.

If you are from Manila, you can take the flight to Butuan City or Davao City. This is the closest route to Bislig. From there you can take a ride from a motorcycle (or habal-habal).

It is a 45-minute ride from the city proper to get to this waterfalls. You will be awed upon seeing it. It will made you forget the long travel.

If you want a new adventure, why not go to Tinuy-an Falls.
